Can you introduce yourself?
I’m Gabrielle Cooper-Weisz, and although my last name often misleads people, I’m French. I grew up in Paris, where I still live. I studied for 5 years at the Ecole Estienne before pursuing a master’s degree in Semiology at the Sorbonne. I then worked for 5 years as Artistic Director in an advertising agency before becoming a full-time illustrator a few years ago.
How would you describe your creative world?
Quite colourful, rather round. I like drawing landscapes as much as characters and adding details to my scenes. I often include the sea because I miss it when I’m in Paris.

Where did you find your inspiration for this collaboration?
I looked at the different Tiptoe collections to compose my decor, and I wanted to depict an everyday scene in the soft light of the end of the day. Those little suspended, ordinary moments. I also had in mind the work of Tom Goyon, who often creates very sensitive scenes.
Can you tell us about a place where you feel good?
In Belle-Île-en-Mer, along the cliffs that I know by heart and yet rediscover on every walk, soothed by the sound of the waves and the cry of the seagulls. It’s an inexhaustible source of inspiration!
