Can you introduce yourself?
My name is Karo and I am an illustrator currently based in Austria. I love summer hikes, cold swims (or more so the feeling after) and spending time with old and new friends.
How would you define your creative universe?
At the center of my work you’ll find community, the female experience and all forms of movement. I really value playfulness and believe we can all do with more lightness and ease so that’s what I try to convey with my art.
Where did you find the inspiration for this collaboration?
As often I found inspiration for the poses in yoga asanas which the characters are holding with ease. This should give them an air of confidence – like superheros, which most women are in my eyes. I loved the idea of building a bridge between movement and still Tiptoe furniture.
Can you share with us a place where you feel at home?
Since my life has unfolded across many places over the years I can’t really pin home to just one location. I love the idea of being able to carry a sense of home with me wherever I go. This can be through my routines, my connection to nature or the communities I’m in. Ultimately home is where I feel safe, inspired and free to play.
