Can you introduce yourself?
My name is Marie and I live in Marseille. I’ve been an illustrator for 10 years, having previously worked as a graphic designer. I love the seaside, where the light of this city enchants and inspires me every day.
How would you define your creative universe ?
My style is characterized by large flat areas of color and a play of transparency inspired by the silkscreen technique. I like to “carve out” color and play with sharp, angular lines, like a collage. My compositions focus on scenes of life, details of architecture, nature and design.
Where do you find your inspiration?
Anything can inspire me! An exhibition, a magazine ad, a passage from a book, a flea market stall, an abstract motif… An association of colors on a passer-by in the street can give me an idea for an illustration that I can quickly visualize and rush to draw when I get home.
The Christmas season brings me a lot of joy, especially the joy of being with family and friends and taking the time to enjoy it. And to eat well, of course!
