Burgundy Playground
November 2024
Vibrant design meets Burgundian heritage.
In the heart of Burgundy, a place steeped in history has found a new lease of life thanks to the bold transformation of architectural studio Heju. Papotte, a former 15th-century mill, has been reinvented in a subtle balance of authenticity and modernity.
In this setting charged with character, Tiptoe makes Burgundy, a land of great vintages and traditions, a veritable playground for its creations. “Burgundy Playground” is an invitation to explore a resolutely modern vision of product design, driven by a love of detail and craftsmanship.
A place steeped in history
The Moulin Papotte is above all a discreet witness to a rich past. Neglected by time, it has been given a new lease of life thanks to a singular and ambitious transformation by the architectural duo Heju.
Today, this ancestral building illustrates a dialogue between raw materials and vibrant color palettes. These ancient stones highlight the Brique red of the MIDI garden collection and its SSDr recycled plastic chairs.
A space of many inspirations
Heju has taken to heart the creation of homes imbued with soul and character for a return to total disconnection. From Nordic fishermen’s homes to Mediterranean inspirations, each place diffuses a poetic and singular personality. These soberly elegant spaces offer a setting where the colors of our table legs collection come harmoniously to life.
A country getaway
The Moka bistro table and SSD chairs add a warm, luminous touch to the terracotta floor tiles of this riverside cottage. Simple and elegant, the duo is perfectly suited to small spaces, combining functionality with aesthetic appeal.
An invitation to conviviality
The New Modern dining table expresses itself with ease in this Italian-inspired space. The product, whose walnut top stands out subtly in the middle of the Terrazzo, contrasts with the authentic atmosphere imagined by Heju. The SSD Full Wood solid wood chairs, sculptural and singular, add a touch of character to the ensemble.
Every detail of these products enhances the architecture
Terracotta tiles, powdered lime and terrazzo blend naturally with our furniture. Glazed by a wall of pink niches, the NOD table lamp becomes a truly decorative piece. Imbued with the Mediterranean spirit of one of the four houses, it reinforces the soothing atmosphere of the place.
A soft, singular atmosphere
The homogeneity of the concrete floor and the irregularity of the terracotta tiles on the counter set the tone for the space. The Moka bistro table and bar stools in solid wood and powder-coated steel underline the architectural features of the space.
Its palette of warm hues offers a real personality: a comforting, delicate ambience.
A space designed for disconnection
Whether you’re looking for a place to get away from it all, or a haven where you can work with peace of mind, these spaces are designed to make you feel at home, while enjoying an environment that’s been brought up to date. The New Modern desk and Unit 5 storage system fit perfectly into this minimalist setting. A true parenthesis, in the heart of the delicate curves and graphic lines of Papotte’s largest house.
A shared philosophy of authenticity and creativity
More than a place, Burgundy is a true state of mind. These rolling landscapes and traditions remind us of the importance of taking time, of savoring. It’s in this spirit that we’ve made the Moulin Papotte the perfect setting for our studio. Nestled in the heart of Burgundy, this site embodies the perfect balance between heritage and modernity, reflecting our commitment to sublimating our exceptional industrial know-how through creative and innovative design.
